Acquiring My Own ASN and IPv6 Ranges

I’m excited to share that I’ve acquired my own Autonomous System Number, AS214161, along with my own IPv6 ranges. You can find more details about the setup on my PeeringDB profile.

I’ve switched all AAAA records for services hosted in the Netherlands to my own IPv6 addresses. This means if your network supports IPv6, you are now connecting directly to IP ranges that I manage, rather than those of my VPS provider. If you wanna try it out, I’ve created a small demo page (it’s nothing special).

The benefits of this setup are that I’m now in full control of the networking stuff, I’m taking self hosting privacy services to the next level.

This upgrade also serves as an educational experience, helping me to learn more about internet infrastructure and it’s inner workings.

Stay tuned for more updates!
